Perched above Manhattan’s East River, this 1,800-square-foot penthouse duplex in Murray Hill offers sweeping southern and eastern views from its sun-drenched living room. Lara Apelian Studio undertook a comprehensive gut renovation, including a new kitchen, bathrooms, main suite, guest suite, and reimagining the double height living room and stairs. This work was completed alongside a full interior design scope—including custom furniture, lighting, and decor. A refined material palette of warm woods, soft neutrals, and layered textures create a calm refined home.

The reimagined layout maximizes the duplex’s verticality and panoramic views, seamlessly blending architectural precision with interior warmth. This residence now serves as a serene retreat above the city, embodying both comfort and luxury.
